Microsoft Response Point

Microsoft has released a really nice small business point system. They call this phone system Microsoft Response Point. The response point system has features of a large phone system for a fraction of the cost.
The price is around $3,000 and that includes 3 handsets. The system has the following features
· Voicemail to email
· Auto Attendant
· SIP Trucking
· Integration to Outlook
You can also combine this phone system with an Internet phone trunk provider, also referred to as a SIP trunk provider and cut down your monthly costs.
SIP trunks start at about 80 dollars a month and include 4 incoming and outgoing lines for calling. SIP Trunking also provides you some disaster recovery has you have the ability to plug the SIP trunk anywhere.
The best part of the phone system is the administration. A small application installs on your desktop and gives you the ability to administer the phone system. You can turn the phone system over to a office manager or a even a secretary and save on your add moves changes or having a technical person make changes.
With everyone looking to save some money, I believe this phone system provides an easy way for you to do that.

Time to Fix the Firewall

Firewalls have been around for a long time and the old method of blocking ports does not provide all the much value anymore. In today’s world the wall is being torn down and the network perimeter is becoming blurred. Applications are moving to the Internet at an accelerated pace and web 2.0 has really exposed the holes of the traditional port blocking firewall.

To become more effective in blocking Internet threats, you needed to purchase intrusion prevention systems, specialized proxies, and URL filter a various additional technologies. The cost of all of these appliances is increasing your budget and your staff’s management time. It is becoming hard to justify all of it, especially in these difficult economic times. We at JSO believe we have something that will fix the problem and fix the firewall.

Next Generation firewalls exist the can fix the problem for you. When evaluating a next generation firewall, make sure it contains the following.

  • Visibility into all applications, regardless of port, protocol, evasive tactic – or even SSL encryption
  • Identification of application users by name – not just by IP address
  • Granular control of application access, by user or groups of users
  • Real-time threat prevention, content control, and URL filtering
  • In-line throughput up to 10gbps, with no performance degradation

This next generation firewall can help you go green in your data center with the ability to eliminate multiple devices. It can cut down on your carbon consumption, help save your company money and help the environment.

You can also find savings by eliminating maintenance on appliances and subscriptions that are not needed. Sometimes enough to get an ROI of 1 year and under.

You will also sleep better at night knowing that you network is protected with against the latest threats and will scale when you need additional bandwidth.

We at JSO can easily demo these firewall’s and can provide you an application Vulnerability report. Contact us today to setup a demo.
